Kabul Fiza ....

Just cant get the lyrics outta my head. Its more catchy than the movie for sure. Catching up with the "offbeat" movie today, just cant get the sprawling Afghani landscapes out of my mind either. Landscapes tormented by years of hopeless barbarism. Landscapes reduced to just stones and mud, devoid of any kind of emotion, any kind of hope for a better future.
A well spaced out movie showcasing the Taliban's cruel rule, Pakistan's hypocratic behaviour with dashes of the Indian Humor... got me thinking bout the freedom we enjoy in a country like ours, where we are free to do as we think and think as we do.. a life not confined in the limits of the burkha..a life where we can venture out unattended, unaccompanied by any male..where women have equal(if not more) rights as any man.
The movie however failed to touch the chord in my heart. It did meander over the issue of the world citizens being helpless bystanders to afghnistans plight, however the plea was feeble. Far too feeble to reach out to the hearts of commoners, to move them to tears.....
Wahever... i enjoyed those two hours... learnt a lil bit bout the ruthless taliban...and most importantly felt the need to renew my interest and urge to write my blog...
Thx a million Kabir khan(Director: Kabul Express), Aditya Chopra (And Yashraj films for not churning out yet another brainless, hopeless romantic flick.. ) and most importantly Taliban...for impressing me enough to start writing my blog....Cheers !!!!!
